Does everyone have equal opportunity in America?

For the last few weeks, we've been caught up in an eternal debate on whether people in America have equal opportunity. Reese took the time to produce an excellent power point and Noah has one as well to help support their views.

This morning, I came into the Nexus center and saw two questions on my board:

"Why are  privileged  people okay with poverty?" and referring to the main character in the CNN video someone posts, " How is she supposed to 'do better' when society doesn't present her with the opportunity?"

Obviously, you all have some comments on the topic and due to limited class time feel frustrated at not being able to express yourselves; therefore, I'm creating this blog so you can vent your frustration. Please feel free to posts the power points, graphs, stats, facts, whatever necessary to support your opinion.
